afghan hound puppy, totally adorable and I know it! This will be my diary to record things as I grow and learn more.It was fun growing up with lots of brothers and sisters (11 of us, 6 boys 6 girls) but then we started to grow and we were told we need to find our own forever homes and go and live with new families. These people called Colin and Sue came to choose one of us..
They chose ME! Hmmmmmmmm
A new chapter in my little life started, and I was taken away in a car, it took ages to get to my new house over 2 hours! but I was very good and quite enjoyed the ride. When I arrived I was met by 2 big dogs,Kira an aging gold afghan hound and Bob who was huge and shaggy with grey fur, they both looked at me suspiciously, Kira gave me one of those stares that only female afghans can,I think she was telling me where I would be in the pecking order. Bob was different he is a great friendly cuddly thing, he has only been here a year after being found wandering the streets in a terrible state and very thin, now he is well loved and fed and ready for games anytime... he's my new bestest friend. The first night I had to sleep here "they" the humans thought I would sleep in a dog crate,I had other ideas and after screaming and howling at midnight my new mum decided for everyones sanity that she would sleep on the sofa by my side,it worked and we all slept soundly and silently. On the second night she decided she needed to sleep in a bed so I was taken upstairs as well and slept all night on the bed, I was very good and didn't make a sound or even wee till I was taken out in the garden in the morning So far I have slept on the bed every night, hehe (got them round my finger already!!!)Things are not so bad here and I have settled into my new life, "they" had to invest in new rolls of wire as I could squeeze through a wrought iron gate, now it's like Fort Knox here now, but I will continue to try and make an escape for me and Bob, in the meantime we are busy trying to dig our way out, but so far the hole is only 4 inches deep! when "they"get a new fence put up at the bottom of the garden we will have much more space to run round in a large grassy (so far) garden. The food is ok as well mainly tripe and lamb or beef with my puppy biscuits,we do get lots of treats though like gravy bones and big leathery chews that keeps us busy, "they" said when I grow I will be taken to shows I know nothing of these shows but will report back when I find out. For now I am being taken for little walks on this thing called a lead it stops me from running like the wind and I am expected to walk nicely without doing ANY screaming or somersaults! so far I think I am doing it right.
I have been here 2 weeks now, and have discovered a thing called a CAT, "they"have 2 but only one appears to want to come into the house, Blossom comes in and Daisy stays in a boiler house sitting on a warm boiler.Strange things these cats all I did was run up to Blossom to say hello and have a sniff and she glared at me and made a hissing noise then she hit me on the nose! thankfully she didn't have the sharp things out and didn't hurt me,she is begining to get used to me, but it does not endear me to Blossom when I chase her in the garden,I must try and stop that. I am going out to play now and try and dig that hole a bit deeper I will come back very soon, Love Dotty...... and keep digging XXXXX
